Gigabyte GA 8I865GM(F)-775 motherboard

Gigabyte GA 8I865GM(F)-775 motherboard has socket LGA-775. The CPU is Pinless Processor. As the old motherboards has passed Socket 478 thre are holes in the motherbaord and processers which support has pins on it surface. But latest Socket LGA-775 motherboard has an advantage that is now the motherboard which has pins plugs to the CPU, transfering the risk of pins being bent by the (usually more expensive) CPU, to the motherboard (usually less expensive). Furthermore, the risk of pins bent is reduced because the pins are located on a spring surface, rather than in a hole. Furthermore, the CPU is pushed into place by a "load plate", rather than direct human fingers.

The technician installing lifts the hinge plate load, insert the processor, close the load plate over the top of the processor, and pushes down a lever. The pressure of the locking lever on the processor load plate pushes down the terminals 775 contact points in copper firmly down on the motherboard 775 pin, ensuring a good connection. The load plate covers only the edges of the upper surface of the CPU. the center is free to make contact with the cooler on the top of the CPU.

The feature of pins plugs to the CPU, In which transferring the risk of pins being bent by the CPU, to the motherboard is really make it different and this is a big advantage of LGA-775 motherboard over the older motherboards.
